Realese date:TBA (to be announce)
The most recent issue of Famitsu Magazine contains a real treat for anime fans. The long-running manga series .hack will get a PSP game later this year. The project is rumored to be a 4-player multiplayer game much like Monster Hunter Freedom and Phantasy Star Portable. The game will take place in the year 2020, sharing the same setting as the recent manga storyline of the same name. According to Famitsu, players will take on the role of either the male or female hero from the familiar story. However, over 100 additional characters from the .Hack universe will be feautred in the game, as they assist the player in the fight against the Schicksal group. The game is in development by Japanese studio CyberConnect2, who were responsible for a number of the PS2 .hack and Naruto games. So far there is no word on a US release date, but seeing as almost all of the PS2 titles made it over here we think the odds of a Western localization are pretty good.
CyberConnect2 wants a piece of the Dissidia pie, taking their own cross-universe (more specificially, cross-World R:X) characters into one big brawler's day out on an action RPG arena.they're using a more manga comic-style cutscene approach.
